The DAP-2660 Wireless AC1200 Simultaneous Dual-Band PoE Access Point is designed to support small to medium business or enterprise environments by providing network administrators with secure and manageable dual-band wireless LAN options, and utilising the cutting-edge speed of Wireless AC.

High performance Wireless AC

The DAP-2660 delivers reliable, high-speed wireless performance using the latest 802.11AC standard with maximum speeds of up to 300 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz frequency and 900 Mbps on the 5 GHz frequency. This, in conjunction with the support for Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) Quality of Service (QoS), make it the ideal access point for audio, voice and video applications. When the QoS is activated, the DAP-2660 automatically prioritizes the network traffic according to the needs of the user. VoIP traffic and HD video streaming will be prioritized, although the user can adjust these rules using the graphic interface of the access point. In addition, the DAP-2660 supports load balancing to ensure maximum performance by limiting the maximum number of users per access point.

Versatile access point functionalities

The DAP-2660 allows network administrators to have an extremely robust and highly manageable simultaneous dual-band wireless network. The DAP-2660 can provide optimal wireless coverage in the 2.4 GHz band (802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11n) and in the 5 GHz band (802.11a, 802.11n and 802.11ac). The DAP-2660 can be installed in interior skies, walls or placed on a desk, fulfilling any wireless need that may arise. For advanced installations, the DAP-2660 integrates support PoE (Power over Ethernet) 802.3af, which allows it to be installed in areas where there is no availability of electrical outlets.
Security

In order to help maintain a secure wireless network, the DAP-2660 has support for both versions of WPA / WPA2 (Personal and Enterprise) 802.11i, it also supports external RADIUS servers and has an internal RADIUS server, allowing the users create their accounts within the same device. This access point also includes filtering by MAC address, wireless LAN segmentation, SSID broadcast didable, rogue AP detection and wireless broadcast scheduling to further increase the security of your network. The DAP-2660 includes support for up to 8 VLANs per band for the implementation of multiple SSIDs in order to help segment the users of the network. It also includes a wireless client isolation mechanism, which limits direct client-to-client communication. Additionally, the DAP-2660 supports Network Access Protection (NAP), a feature of Windows Server 2008, which allows network administrators to define multiple levels of access to the network based on the individual needs of each client.

Multiple modes of operation

To maximize the total return on your investment, the DAP-2660 can be configured to optimize network performance based on any of its multiple modes of operation: Access Point, Wireless Distribution System (WDS) with Access Point, WDS / Bridge ( without AP Broadcasting), or Wireless Client. With WDS support, network administrators can install multiple DAP-2660s and configure them to bridge each other while providing network access to individual clients. The DAP-2660 also has advanced features, such as load balancing and redundancy, to ensure fail-safe wireless connectivity.

Network administration

Network administrators have multiple options to manage the DAP-2660, including web (HTTP), Secure Socket Layer (SSL, provides a secure connection to the internet), Secure Shell (SSH), provides a secure channel between a local computer and a remote ) and Telnet. For advanced network management, administrators can use the D-Link Central Wi-Fi Manager software to manage and configure multiple access points from one place. Additionally, D-Link Central Wi-Fi Manager gives network administrators tools to carry out regular maintenance tasks remotely, eliminating the need to send personnel to the field to verify the correct operation.

The DAP-2660 has a programmable scheduler, which can turn off the wireless signal when it is not needed, which helps conserve energy. Thanks to its simultaneous dual band functionality, PoE support, advanced management, versatile operation modes and security enhancements, the DAP-2660 is an excellent solution for the installation of a robust wireless network in business environments.
